- I am a physician (MD), scientist (PhD), and Professor of Cardiac imaging at the University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia.
I also hold an affiliation as Associate Professor in the medical specialty Clinical Physiology at the Department of Clinical Physiology at Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden.
- I am principal investigator for and lead a Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging research group at both the University of Sydney and Karolinska. Our research interests are focused on how the heart works, and how we can learn more about the heart using medical imaging. In particular, my interests include non-invasive cardiac imaging, MRI, CT, SPECT, echocardiography, electrocardiography (ECG), the diagnoses ischemic heart disease and heart failure, ischemic pathophysiology, and basic cardiac pumping physiology.
- My interests outside work include biking, hiking, alpine sports, male choir, SCUBA diving, paleolithic diet and a fascination with emerging technologies.
